Paying for Your Care

Do you pay for yourself?

Quite often adult social services department of your local council assesses your needs and can give advice on this aspect and will help you get the financial you require to pay towards your care.

Also, a social worker or care manager, from the Adult Social Care Services department will visit you at home to assess and tailor make your personal and financial care service needs.

Additionally, council can decide whether your needs are eligible needs that can be publicly funded and when you meet this criterion then they can recommend entitlement to financial assistance including amounts you can get towards your care.

Refer to: Help with funding page. Also see our Help with funding page.

Arrangements for Care Services

The local council can make arrangement on your behalf with charities or private companies to provide your care services or alternatively you can choose to make your own arrangement to find a care worker.

This happens under the following situations: -

§ When council sets aside a personal budget so that you can buy your own care and support services

§ If you do not meet their eligibility criteria or

§ Because you prefer to make all support care arrangement for yourself, independently.
